The ethics of antobiotic resistance

Lead by Christian Munthe (professor of practical philosophy), this projecty also involves researchers Karl Persson de Fine Licht and Niels Nijsingh (both practical philosophy). This theme combines the risk and precaution theme of Munthe with earlier work in public health ethics, plus a number of new angles, not least regarding the ethics of environmental health and environmental research ethics. The work takes place mainly within the Centre for Antibiotic resistance Research, CARe, at the University of Gothenburg, of which Munthe was a founding member and is now principal investigator for ethics, as well as representing the Faculty of Humanities as member of the steering committee. This research is very crossdisciplinary, reaching across six faculties, and currently involves hands-on collaboration between philosophy, economics, medicine, environmental science, politics and law.
